Diversified Business Communications UK is part of a rapidly growing, highly successful trade exhibition and media group, with its head office in the beautiful US city of Portland in Maine.
From just a couple of events and a magazine a few years ago, we now organise eight highly successful annual trade shows, all of them leaders in their sectors, publish a couple of magazines, do web stuff and, of course, social media to support the industries we work in. Around 30 highly motivated and talented individuals work here in our Brighton office, all focused on creating the best possible exhibiting and visiting experiences for our customers. And we all have fun doing it! So, if you’re ever in Brighton, we would love to see you.
We know that we are only ever as good as our last event, and we don’t take anything for granted.
We believe in attention to detail and like to control every last detail. For instance, we do all our design work ourselves because getting the message right and communicating it effectively, is essential to delivering successful shows. We do our own PR, because we think we know best. Our operations, marketing, sales – it’s all in house, done by people who understand the markets they serve, who know our customers and who can react quickly to feedback. Our beginnings can be traced back to 1949 when Horace Hildreth Sr, the former governor of Maine, launched Maine’s first TV station. In 1970, the company appropriately ‘diversified’ and launched its first trade show, the beginning of another chapter, which eventually led to where we are today. Under the leadership of our CEO and President Nancy Hasselback, the company has seen rapid growth in recent years and is now recognised internationally as one of the most dynamic and successful companies in the sector. Annually, we now organise over 150 trade and consumer events around the world, some small and local and some very big, including international market leading events. Busy, brilliant, invigorating, and essential – these are just some of the words attendees have used to describe this year’s SITS – The Service Desk and IT Support Show, which took place on 23-24 April at Earls Court, London.
One new feature that certainly proved popular with everyone at this year’s Natural and Organic Awards on 7 April was the special Photo Booth set up by Pegasus PR. What is it about pink wigs, boas, panto hats and wind machines that brings out the poser in us all?
The Natural Products Scandinavia team were celebrating in style last month after its inaugural event – held in Malmö, Sweden, in October 2012 - was named Best International Launch of the year at the prestigious Exhibition News Awards on Wednesday 10 April.
Over the 7-8 April, London’s Olympia was at the epi-centre of the natural and organic world – as over 8,800 industry professionals from across the globe (76 different countries!) gathered for the 17th annual Natural & Organic Products Europe trade show.
