We’re delighted to announce that three of our events have made the shortlists for this year’s Association of Event Organisers (AEO) Excellence Awards – the exhibition industry’s equivalent to the Oscars.
The nominations, which were announced yesterday, sees Casual Dining, Commercial Kitchen, and the co-located Natural Products Scandinavia & Nordic Organic Food Fair, all in the running for prestigious best tradeshow awards.
For the first time in a few years, no Diversified events are competing against each other (yay!).
Casual Dining, which already has two best trade show awards to its name, is up for ‘Best UK Tradeshow – over 2,000 sqm’.
Natural Products Scandinavia & Nordic Organic Food Fair, which takes place in Malmö, Sweden, is celebrating its ‘Best Overseas Tradeshow over 2,000sqm’ nomination. It’s previously been a finalist in other categories – so fingers crossed!
While Commercial Kitchen, which opens for its second edition at the NEC Birmingham next month (on 6-7 June), is up for two trophies – ‘Best Tradeshow Launch’ and ‘Best Tradeshow under 2,000sqm’.
Notably, Commercial Kitchen is one of only a few events to ever have been shortlisted as a finalist in both these AEO Awards categories. Casual Dining also enjoyed that honour in 2014 and went on to win ‘Best Tradeshow under 2,000sqm’. Can Commercial Kitchen go one better?
We’ll find out soon enough – as it’s only a month until all the results are announced.
So well done team and good luck to all our shortlisted finalists! As you might have guessed, they’re all thrilled!!
Anne Seeberg, event director of Natural Product Scandinavia & The Nordic Organic Food Fair: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be nominated for Best Overseas Tradeshow. It really is a testament to all the hard work and dedication of the team over last six years, not to mention all our exhibitors and association partners across the region. Their support has been crucial to the continuing success of the shows. Together, we’ve helped grow the market for natural and organic products in the Nordic region, which ultimately, is what we want. And it’s what we set out to do. We couldn’t be happier to be shortlisted and are delighted to share this nomination with all the innovative individuals and companies that we work with.”
Grace Allwright, group marketing manager of Casual Dining: “We’re thrilled that Casual Dining is up for Best Tradeshow for the fourth year running. It’s previously won the ‘under 2,000sqm’ category, so to be nominated in the ‘over 2,000 sqm’ is a huge achievement and highlights that it just get bigger and better every year. As always our thanks go to the exhibitors, visitors and supporters that make Casual Dining such a special and important event for the sector it serves.”

It really is a wonderful endorsement for a new show like Commercial Kitchen going forward. While for Casual Dining, after our best ever show and with the sector being in such good health, I really didn’t think it could get any better. It’s a great testament to the support the show has received in short amount of time. We’re excited to be able to share these nominations with our innovative exhibitors, association and media partners, and all the incredible visitors that attend both shows.”
Nina Jones, marketing manager of Commercial Kitchen: ““To be nominated for these two awards, especially for a launch show is fantastic. Feedback from exhibitors and visitors following the show has been phenomenal and we’re excited to build on this for the show’s second edition on 6-7 June.”
