To kick off Star Awards 2017 in the south, the Brighton office had a test of courage, cunning and intuition in a Diversified murder mystery. The 5 teams named: grievous bodily harm, drunk and disorderly, breach of the peace, breaking and entering, and prison mutiny were tasked with roaming the streets of Brighton in search for clues for the whereabouts of office manager Lydia Neil – aka Linda ‘The Doppleganger’ Beil.
Teams had to guess the murderer out of 6 suspects: Zoe Lacey Cooper – Madame Racey Lacey (event director – Accountex); Simon Watkins – Simon the South African Saxophone’ player Watkins (previous event manager, Commercial Kitchen); Chris Brazier – The Brassier Merchant from Ditchling (group event director); Dominic Roberjot – The retired Olympic runner (publisher); Carol Dunning – Doctor Dunning (event director – Natural Products Europe & Go Organic Festival); and David Maguire – who is both dashing and dastardly (group event director).
On a scorching day, with a list of clues and puzzles in hand, teams were given a short time to solve the mystery. To gain some extra points, everyone had to film some interesting video challenges to help crack the codes. Without further ado, here are the video highlights from the day:
The winning team ‘breaking and entering’ – made up of Chris Brazier, Karolina Orecchini (senior sales exec – Natural & Organic Products Europe), Ross Harris (graphic designer), Anne Seeberg (previous event director), Laura Furness (senior operations exec), and Stefanie Wiley (accounts exec), successfully earned the most points in time to meet the real Lydia Neil for a picnic on Preston Park.
If you didn’t guess it from the video, it turns out Chris Brazier – The Brassier Merchant from Ditchling, locked Linda in a cupboard thinking it was Lydia Neil, with the help of Ross Harris (who gave the wrong name to save the real Lydia) … of course!
Shortly after hearing the shocking discovery, everyone came together with some beers and food for the announcement of our Star Awards 2017. See video for the results..
