Ocean Business 

Celebrating its ten year anniversary, Ocean Business, which took place on 4-6 April in National Oceanography Centre in Southampton, is now firmly established as an unmissable international event for ocean technology, with almost 40% of visitors coming from abroad.  OCean Business has once again exceeded expectations with 4348 attendees through the door from an incredible 61 countries.

Group Event Director Versha Carter confirmed: “Visitor numbers were up by 3% with an amazing 38% coming from outside of the UK.  Not only did we have more actual bodies through the door but they stayed for longer which added to the show being the busiest ever.  We have had many exhibitors saying that Ocean Business has now become the best ocean technology show in the industry and most certainly the one that offers the best return on investment.”


Accountex reported a record turnout for another successive year.  The industry-defining event – the biggest in the UK for the accountancy and finance profession – welcomed 7,021 attendees (a 7% increase for 2017) to London ExCeL over 10-11 May. The who’s who of visitors included many of the country’s top accountants, finance directors, accounts managers, tax professionals, heads of IT, bookkeepers, and sole practitioners (working in practice, industry, and the public sector).  For them, Accountex is the “must attend” event for discovering the best new products, tools, solutions, insights, and innovations of the year.

“Best Accountex yet!  Great people, great suppliers, the atmosphere was brilliant and the keynotes were fantastic!” says Steven Briginshaw, founder of Endgame Success (and a former chartered accountant).

GEO Business

London was the capital of the geospatial world – as GEO Business returned to the Business Design Centre in Islington, on 23-24 May, to showcase the best new products, services and solutions of the year. The UK’s biggest geospatial exhibition and conference enjoyed its fourth year of significant growth, serving up 2386 attendees to its 200 exhibitors. That’s a 19% increase in visitors from 2016 and a 50% increase since the show was launched in 2014! Notably, the show also attracted a large contingent of international visitors from an outstanding 52 countries.

Fantastic, brilliant, important, interesting, busy, successful, worthwhile, and essential – are just some of the words used to describe the show so far and long time supporter of GEO Business, Derry Long from Mollenhauer Group said, ‘The show has been absolutely heaving! GEO Business just gets better and better.’

Commercial Kitchen 

Commercial Kitchen, the multi-award nominated trade show for the UK’s catering equipment industry, enjoyed a very successful second edition at the NEC Birmingham – welcoming 1,775 attendees over 6-7 June.

The increase in attendance for 2017 included an 18% rise in the number of big spenders at the show (buyers with over £5million of purchasing power).  The number of visitors who influence and/or authorise purchases was also up 8%; while nearly one in four visitors said they are responsible for an annual corporate spend of over £1million.

Other headline figures include a record onsite rebook, which saw 65% of exhibitors confirm their participation at the next edition before doors had even closed.  Many have hailed Commercial Kitchen 2017 as a significant and overwhelming success – praising the quality of the ‘highly specialised’ buyers they did business with at the show.

SITS – The Service Desk & IT Support Show 

SITS – The Service Desk & IT Support Show was the hub of all things ITSM at London Olympia.   The show has been hailed another successful and vibrant event which welcomed 3,747 visitors through its doors on 7-8 June (up 7% for 2017).

This year’s show floor was packed full of service desk and help desk managers, technical specialists, consultants, CIOs, CTOs, IT directors, and senior IT decision-makers from around the UK, looking to network, research, learn, and discover the latest technologies and developments.  The event garnered visitors from companies as diverse as Telegraph Media Group, Waitrose, PepsiCo, ASOS, Chelsea Football Club, NHS England, BT, Bank of England, British Gas, Channel 4, EDF Energy, Ford Motor Company, and Fujitsu.

But it’s not over yet, we’re now busy preparing for lunch! (21-22 September), Coach & Bus UK (4-5 October),  Natural Products Scandinavia  and Nordic Organic Food Fair (15-16 November) – so watch this space.
