What we do
Diversified Communications UK is part of a rapidly growing, highly successful trade exhibition and media group, with its head office based in beautiful Portland, Maine, USA.
From just a couple of events and a magazine a few years ago, we now organise 15 highly successful trade shows, all of them leaders in their sectors, publish market leading trade magazines, and have some great digital products to support the industries we work in. Over 90 highly motivated and talented individuals work here in our Brighton, Cotswolds and Peterborough offices, all focused on creating the best possible exhibiting and visiting experiences for our customers. How we do it
We know that we are only ever as good as our last event, and we don’t take anything for granted.
We believe in attention to detail and like to control every last detail. For instance, we do all our design work ourselves because getting the message right and communicating it effectively, is essential to delivering successful shows. We do our own PR, because we think we know best. Our operations, marketing, sales – it’s all in house, done by people who understand the markets they serve, who know our customers and who can react quickly to feedback. The Bigger Picture
Diversified Communications is a family owned company, with a growing global network of media, events and divisions in the USA, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong and the UK.
Our beginnings can be traced back to 1949 when Horace Hildreth Sr, the former governor of Maine, USA, purchased the license for WABI-AM in Bangor, Maine and in 1953 launched WABI-TV. In 1970, the company appropriately ‘diversified’ and launched its first trade show, the beginning of another chapter, which eventually led to where we are today. Under the leadership of our CEO and President Ted Wirth, the company has seen rapid growth in recent years and is now recognised internationally as one of the most dynamic and successful companies in the sector. We now own nearly 50 brands, run over 100 events annually, and produce 7 publications and more than 25 digital products, with around 500 staff globally.
